Levy cost allocation review
Volte supported a nation-wide emergency service provider to better understand the allocation of costs within their levy calculation. By reviewing cost-to-function analysis and attributing costs to public service commitments, Volte could advise the organisation on how to best make sure costs were transparent and fair, and clarified accountabilities.
Strategy development
Volte worked with the Board and Chief Executive of an emergency response and health service provider to develop its long-term strategy. The strategy was underpinned by robust patient and service analysis, and supported the provider to respond to significant health sector challenges.
Integrated organisational design
Volte joined a large public sector agency to help progress their organisation design which had become bogged down by siloed consultancy providers and fragmented advice. Volte was able to connect across and provide clarity, delivering a joined-up organisational design activity and an end-to-end operating model for the agency. In addition, Volte was asked to lead aspects of change programme implementation to make sure organisational changes reflected the integrated design intent.
Efficiency benchmarking
Volte helped the Chief Executive of a NZ-based private health service provider to identify operating efficiencies to significantly improve profitability. Volte calculated and benchmarked the productivity of health services and operations for each region and location in which it operates, and supported Board reporting to ensure the organisation was able to deliver value from this key operational information.
International strategy
Volte was engaged by NZ’s largest education provider to develop a strategy for rebuilding and growing its international learner revenue. Volte worked with market experts across business divisions and undertook robust market analysis. The strategy provided a roadmap for optimising the grow-back of international learners across regions, and maximising revenue based on industry and specific country trends and demographics.
Organisational redesign
Volte was design and change partner to a recently appointed Chief Executive of a mid-sized public sector agency. The organisation was facing significant budget pressure as a consequence of unsustainable investment in unfunded capabilities. Changes implemented repositioned the agency for financial sustainability without compromising the effectiveness of its core functions.
Workforce planning
Volte reviewed the function of workforce planning and management for a mid-size crown entity and regulator. The review provided a roadmap of practical improvement initiatives best fitting the client. Volte was subsequently asked to provide workforce planning and reporting expertise to accelerate development of internal capability.
Enterprise performance reporting
Volte was engaged by a large crown entity to identify operating model improvements for the function of enterprise performance planning and reporting. Review recommendations to establish a more joined-up function included improvements to process, accountabilities, governance, and organisational structures.
Target operating model
Volte replaced a top-tier consultancy to recover and accelerate the design and implementation of a target operating model that integrated the functions of entirely separate business divisions to form Australasia's largest vocational education training provider. In addition, Volte developed a transformation business case and strategic financial plan for investment in core business capabilities required.
