Procurement function review and optimisation roadmap
Rob Heaney
Volte worked with a large New Zealand public sector organisation to review its procurement function as part of a wider transformation programme, assessing progress against a recently implemented operating model and identifying opportunities to simplify and lift performance. The work combined stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and process review to highlight inefficiencies across analytics, processes, supplier use, and role clarity, alongside emerging strengths in supplier management and capability. A prioritised set of recommendations provided a clear, sequenced pathway to streamline processes, strengthen commercial capability, and support a more intelligence-led procurement function.
